The thing no one tells you about being creative? The rules are a lot more malleable than we think…and it doesn’t hurt to blur the line between good and bad.
This fabulous list comes from the creative brain of Austin Kleon, author of Steal Like an Artist, who touts his book as a manifesto to the new age of creativity. Sign me up please!
Reblogged over on glitter&&hiphop 😀 My creative reserves were running a little low today, this is just what I needed! Thanks!
Thanks Bridget! Happy this was able to replenish those reserves.
Let them see the diamond cuff link but not the trick up the sleeve, keep a velvet glove with a iron fist underneath, cross all t’s, dot all i’s & rember to tie up lose strings, then keep on the run. Thief mentality.
There you go, you’ve got it down pat.
Love the idea and presentation! 😉
Thank you Marc!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Great Post! Jay
You’re welcome, de nada, de rien!

The writer really knows how to highlight the main obstacles we put in our own way. Thank you.

I like this idea – thanks for posting.
Thank you for dropping by!
I love this! So clever! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Austin really does make it fun by breaking it down into digestible pieces, doesn’t he? And thanks!
Hi,
So many of them are very true indeed. 😀
The sign of a good writer – being able to reveal the truths we already know but haven’t fully been able to see until he/she frames it in a new, unique way.
\m/ Yay! These aren’t new ideas, and yet every time I come across them, I feel liberated. A sure sign that this is what our souls need to hear, again and again, until the truth of the message sinks in.
You put it so well. We need to constantly remind ourselves of our potential and creative abilities. Doubt gets us a one-way ticket to nowhere.
Love this! Lots of truth here.
Thanks! And glad you were able to find it inspiring for your post today!

I love reading ‘Thoughtsontheatre’s’ blog anyway… but this post has lifted my spirits after the anger of not being given the rights to perform ‘Aalst’.
This post inspires and reassures. :o)
Thank you so much for the kind words Laura. I appreciate having you as a reader and happy to hear that this post touched you.
