I want to capture light in darkness,
Illumination wearing Zorro’s mask,
As it hides in corners and cupboards and closets
Snickering proudly over its swift elusion.
I want to see beyond the edges
Of the shapes and curves of lovers, buildings –
Halos of color that saturate the empty space,
Playfully waiting as you count to ten.
I want to see the Northern Lights.
“Close your eyes,” they offer in near whisper.
And as blindness gives way, fractals join hands –
a luminous dance, a reverie
