Cool! You would probably have enjoyed the art installation that I was privileged to show in the gallery I directed during my university years. Like the chair shown here, the objects in the show were all wrapped in maps, and ranged from furniture to appliances to still-life objects to houses–you name it–and it was fascinating to find one’s way through the installation while contemplating how the lives of the people who should inhabit the space and use the objects was mapped out as well. Quite thought-provoking.
Loved these pics, made me itch for travel.
Thought you might like to see this pic of the Met Opera production of La Fille du Regiment, which had a set backdrop made of maps!

How wonderful! I’m sure I would have loved it Kathryn. Sounds absolutely stimulating.

Simon, that set looks absolutely fantastic! Great connection.
These are fantastic!! I particularly like the shade, with the light coming through. Where’s my Mod Podge??
Right? Enough to bring out the crafty side.
Maps and creativity interesting
Thanks for your thoughts typewriter!
Fantastic map ideas! I think the soles of the shoes are my favorites, but it was a hard choice.
